UP Collective has joined together to extend gallery space for E.A.S.T. to collective members, Starving Arts artists, and artists within the larger Austin community! 6×6″ slabs of masonite will be available for pick-up at Starving Arts Studios later today and will be handed out at no cost to the artist. Artists looking to contribute their work will be donating the piece to the collective and pieces will be sold for a flat fee of $20 during the E.A.S.T. weekends. Proceeds will go back into the collective so that we may continue to host events and maintain the gallery space.
In order to participate, send an e-mail to info@upcollective.org to schedule a time to pick up your materials. The submission should utilize the original medium and fit within the 6×6″ parameters. Artists are allowed a maximum of 3 masonite slabs. Submissions are due November 7th and will be hung in the South Gallery from November 12th until November 20th. Artists are also asked to submit a brief bio and contact information which will replace the piece on the wall once it has sold.
6×6″ will be not only a composite of the talent we have available to us through UP Collective but also of all the creativity Austin has to offer! UP is very excited about bringing new artists into the space and supporting those artists that are either new to the community or just beginning to branch out in Austin, especially during E.A.S.T. We can’t wait to see your submissions!
